About this game

Color Perception is a quiet, focused stage. You see a grid of tiles in one color, but one tile is a slightly different shade. Tap it and the next board appears. The hue and brightness change every round, so you cannot learn one color by heart.

Difficulty rises in two ways. The grid grows from two by two up to seven by seven tiles, and the gap in lightness between the odd tile and the rest shrinks a little every level. The gap never drops below a small floor, so even long runs stay possible on a normal screen.

A wrong tap costs one of three lives. The right tile is marked for one second, then a fresh board at the same level appears, so tapping the same spot again does not help. When the last life is gone, the odd tile is marked on the board, and your score is the level you reached. Your best level is saved in this browser.

Screens differ a lot. Brightness, night mode, blue light filters, and viewing angle all change how close two shades look. For a fair run, face the screen straight on and turn off color filters. Status text always tells you how many lives are left, so you never need to judge the game from color alone.

What this does not measure

This game does not test for color blindness or check your eyesight, and it is not a medical tool. Results depend heavily on your screen and its settings. If you have concerns about your vision, talk to an eye care professional.
