How to play
- Press Start. One face of the cube is painted, and one tile glows as the goal.
- Roll the cube with the arrow buttons, the arrow keys, or a swipe. Each roll tips it over one edge.
- Land on the goal with the painted face on top to clear the level.
- Try to match the par: the fewest rolls that solve the puzzle. Walls block the way.
About this game
Cube Roll is a small spatial puzzle. A cube sits on a grid, and one of its six faces is painted. You cannot slide it; you can only tip it over an edge, so every move also turns it. Roll it north and the top face swings to the north side, the north side goes underneath, and so on.
Reaching the goal is easy. Reaching it with the paint on top is the puzzle. Four rolls in a straight line bring a face back to where it started, while a short detour to the side moves it to a different face. Walls block some tiles and force longer routes.
Every level is made by a program and then solved by a search that tries every position and every way the cube can face. That search proves the level can be solved and gives its par, the smallest number of rolls that works. Levels grow larger and need more rolls as you go.
You can undo a roll or restart the level at any time. The highest level you reach is saved in this browser.
What this does not measure
This is a puzzle game for fun. It is not an IQ test or a test of spatial ability, and your result does not say anything about how your mind works.
