How to play

  1. Press Start. A number appears for a few seconds.
  2. When it disappears, type the number you saw and press Check.
  3. Get it right and the next number is one digit longer.
  4. One wrong answer ends the run. Your score is the longest number you got right.

About this game

Number Memory starts small. The first number has three digits, and every correct answer adds one more. The number stays on screen for one second plus half a second per digit, up to ten seconds, and a bar shows how much time is left. Then it disappears and you type it back from memory.

There is only one try per number. If any digit is wrong, the run ends and the result screen shows the number next to what you typed, with the wrong positions highlighted. Your score is the length of the longest number you typed correctly, and your best score is saved in this browser.

Spaces do not matter, so you can type in groups if that helps. Full-width digits from Chinese or Japanese keyboards are accepted too. On a phone, the number pad opens on its own.

Most people stop seeing single digits after a few levels and start grouping them, like a phone number: three digits, then three, then four. Some say the digits quietly to themselves, and some picture them written down. Try a few ways and keep the one that lasts the longest for you.

What this does not measure

This is a casual game, not a memory test. It does not measure intelligence, diagnose memory problems, or predict how well you learn. Tiredness, noise, and distractions can change your score from one run to the next.

Your best score is saved in this browser only.
