How to play
- Press Start. Some cells on the grid are lit.
- Pressing a cell flips it and the cells directly above, below, left, and right.
- Turn every cell off to clear the level. Fewer presses is better.
- Use Reset to restore the level's starting grid at any time.
About this game
Switch Grid is a classic flipping puzzle. Each cell is a switch that is either lit or dark. Pressing one flips it and its four direct neighbours at once, so every press changes up to five cells. The goal is a completely dark grid.
Every puzzle here is built by pressing switches on a dark grid, so a solution always exists. Early levels use a three by three grid and only a few presses to undo. Later levels grow to four by four and five by five, with up to twelve hidden presses. The number of presses you need never grows without limit.
Two facts make the puzzle easier. Pressing the same cell twice cancels out, so you never need to press a cell more than once. And the order of presses does not matter. A common method is to work row by row from the top: press the cell below each lit cell, push the lights down to the last row, and then look for the pattern that clears it.
