How to play
- Press Start. A 5×5 grid of digits from 1 to 9 appears and a 60-second clock starts.
- Tap a number, then tap neighbours (up, down, left, or right) to build a chain.
- When the chain adds up to exactly 10, it clears. Going over 10 breaks the chain.
- Cleared cells fall and new numbers drop in. Score one point per cleared cell.
About this game
Ten Sum is a quick adding game with a twist of path finding. Every chain must be made of cells that touch side by side, and its numbers must total exactly ten. A 3 next to a 7 is the simplest chain; a 2, 3, and 5 in an L shape is worth more because it clears three cells.
When a chain clears, the numbers above fall into the gap and fresh digits drop in from the top, so the board keeps changing. The game always makes sure at least one valid chain exists, so you are never stuck with a dead board.
If you tap a cell that does not touch the end of your chain, a new chain starts there. Tapping the last cell again takes it back. Going over ten resets the chain without a penalty, apart from the time it cost you. Your best score is saved in this browser.
Longer chains score more, but they take longer to find. Good players mix quick pairs with the occasional three- or four-cell chain when one jumps out.
What this does not measure
This is a number game for fun. It is not an IQ test or a math assessment, and the score depends a lot on the boards you happen to get.
