About this game
Dice Poker is a quiet, three-minute game of luck and choices. Five dice tumble across a felt tray, and you decide what to keep. Each turn you may roll up to three times: hold the dice that help, roll the rest, and see what comes up.
The score sheet has thirteen boxes. The upper six count a single face: the Threes box scores the total of your threes, for example. The lower seven are hands. Three or Four of a Kind score the sum of all five dice, a Full House (three of one and two of another) is 25, a Small Straight of four in a row is 30, a Large Straight of five is 40, Five Alike is 50, and Chance takes any dice at their sum.
Every turn ends with a box being filled, even when the dice let you down, so part of the game is deciding where to take a zero. Keep the upper section in mind: if those six boxes reach 63 points, about three of each face, you earn a 35-point bonus.
The sheet shows what the current dice would score in every open box, so you can compare choices at a glance. Rolls are random, and a game always lasts thirteen turns. Your best total is saved in this browser.
What this does not measure
This is a game of chance with some strategy. It does not measure intelligence or skill at probability, and a low score is often just the dice.
