  1. Press Start. You have 30 seconds.
  2. Moles pop out of the nine holes. Tap one while it is up to bop it for 1 point.
  3. Golden moles are worth 3 points but duck faster. Bombs take 3 points away, so do not tap them.
  4. Moles come faster and stay up for less time as the clock runs down.

About this game

Mole Bop is a half-minute reflex game on a grassy mound with nine holes. Moles keep popping up, looking around, and ducking back down. Tap a mole while it is out and it gets bopped with a squash and a puff of confetti.

Each mole only stays up for about a second at the start, and that window shrinks as the round goes on, while new ones appear more and more often. By the last ten seconds several holes can be busy at once, so keep your eyes on the whole board rather than one spot.

Two things break the rhythm. Golden moles shine in the sun and are worth three points, but they disappear sooner than the others. Bombs with a fizzing fuse appear after the first few seconds, and tapping one costs three points. Your score never drops below zero.

On a computer you can play with the keyboard: Q, W, and E for the top row of holes, A, S, and D for the middle, and Z, X, and C for the bottom, or the number pad laid out the same way. Switching to another tab ends the round, and your best score is saved in this browser.

What this does not measure

This is a game, not a test. It does not measure reaction time in a scientific way, attention, or any medical condition. Device, screen, and browser speed all change the result.
