How to play
- Pick a level and press Start. You defend the goal at the bottom; the computer defends the top.
- Drag on the table and your mallet follows your finger or mouse. It stays in your half.
- Hit the puck into the slot at the far end to score. Moving the mallet into the puck hits it harder.
- The first to five goals wins. After a goal, the side that conceded gets the puck.
About this game
Air Hockey is a quick one-on-one match on a 3D table. The puck glides almost without friction, so it keeps its speed and rebounds off the rails, and the game moves fast. You hold the near end of the table and the computer holds the far one. Each side has a goal slot in the middle of its end wall.
Your mallet follows your finger or your mouse across your half of the table. The puck takes its speed from the mallet that hits it: a mallet standing still only blocks, while one swung into the puck fires it away. Striking it at an angle sends it into a rail, and a bank shot off the rail is often the only way past a mallet that is guarding the middle.
The computer guards its goal by standing between the puck and the slot, and it comes forward to strike when the puck sits slow on its side. On Easy it is slow and leaves gaps. On Normal it tracks the puck well. On Hard it moves quickly and attacks almost every loose puck, so you will need angles and speed.
A match ends when one side reaches five goals. Wins and losses are kept for each level in this browser. If you switch tabs, the game pauses until you come back. You can also move the mallet with the arrow keys.
