  1. Pick a level and press Start.
  2. Tap a cell, then a number to fill it. Grey numbers are given and cannot change.
  3. Each row, each column, and each 2×3 box must contain 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 once.
  4. Clashing numbers turn red. Fill the grid with no clashes to finish, and try to beat your best time.

About this game

Mini Sudoku is the classic number-placement puzzle at a size that fits a coffee break. The grid is six by six, split into six boxes of two rows and three columns. Some numbers are already in place; your job is to fill the rest so that no number repeats in any row, column, or box.

Every puzzle is made fresh when you press Start. The computer fills a complete grid at random, then empties cells one by one, and puts a number back whenever removing it would let the puzzle have a second answer. So every puzzle has exactly one solution, and you can always reach it by reasoning rather than guessing. Tests check this on many puzzles at every level.

Easy keeps around twenty numbers on the board. Normal keeps about fifteen. Hard removes every number it can while the answer stays unique, which usually leaves a tight, satisfying puzzle. A good habit is to look for a row, column, or box that is nearly full, and for a number that can only fit in one place.

Mistakes are allowed: a number that clashes with another turns red, and you can change any cell you filled. Tap a cell and a number, or use the keyboard: arrow keys move, 1 to 6 fill, and Backspace clears. Your best time on each level is saved in this browser.

What this does not measure

This is a puzzle for fun. It does not measure intelligence or mathematical ability, and a slow time says nothing about you.
